| I have been actively promoting quality dressage in the area for 15 years. JKL Farm is a small private farm in Willard, Missouri located near the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport. We occasionally have home bred quality horses for sale. I am a true adult amateur rider with a very limited income- an example that you can have success by making good decisions and seeking the highest quality training possible, and making the most out of it. Quality is better than quantity. Dressage is very hard, and expensive- who needs to waste their time or money getting stuck in a rut? Sometimes your priorities change because that is how life is. You have to always do what is best for the horse, and place your horse's well being over your own, even if it means changing the path you have set out on. Only you know what is best for you and your horse and your goals. Horsemanship is the one art for which it
seems one needs only practice. However, practice without true principles is
nothing other than routine, the fruit of which is a strained and unsure
execution, a false diamond which dazzles semi-connoisseurs often more impressed by the
accomplishments of the horse than the merit of the horseman. "Take your time, but don't waste time." ~Arthur Kottas JKL Farm Horses PRESENT Click on Thumbnails
Wrapsody in Venice- 2006 gelding out of Midori by Wagnis (Weltmeyer). A very handsome boy, he is very laid back and smart. He is my future dressage horse. He is exhibiting the best of both of his parents. Pictured: A month old, 18 months old, Age 3 after being started under saddle, and the last ones are age 3 at his first show 5 months under saddle and in a Musical Freestyle.
Killian Bay- is a 1990 Holsteiner retired FEI horse I adopted from a farm in Indiana. He has been babysitting Paint halter horses for 6 years. He thought his riding days were over! Little did he know.. Now I get to have fun learning on him. He also is fun to take out on the trail. Strider: He is a 4 year old buckskin Quarter horse/Mustang that 100% belongs to my husband. He is his "dream" horse and his future trail horse. This is the newest member of the family, Jose (Peps Diamond Dude), a 2001 AQHA/Foundation QH gelding that is going to be Strider's buddy and a good trail horse. Augustine- 2000 gray Jenny donkey. She is our resident babysitter of all the foals and is loved by all.
"The biggest enemy to the partnership of dressage is impatience and the human nature to dominate other creatures." -Walter Zettl
JKL Farm Horses PAST Click on Thumbnails JKL Madeira is a 1998 Mustang/Trakehner bred by Jana Wagner. 2006 USDF All Breed Reserve at Open and Adult Amateur. Maddie and I were the 2005 Gifted Fund Scholarship recipient. Read Training Week at Black Star Sporthorses. Maddie was sold in 2007 and has a great home in St. Louis, where she is the star of the barn!
Winsom Courtjester- 2005 American Sport Pony filly I bred. By Wicked Courjester out of JKL Chelsea. 2005 ASPR Site Champion. Sold in 2007, relocated to Delaware. Winner of 2007 Dressage at Devon sport pony class. Currently under saddle and winning materiale classes. Winsom is due to foal June 2010. She was bred to Hilltop Farm's German Riding Pony Stallion Popeye.
JK Lily- a 1983 Thoroughbred mare I got from New Jersey in 1996. Although a confirmed 3rd level dressage and Prelim event horse, mare was given away due to having headshaking syndrome. After having Lily a year, a partnership was developed and I was able to utilize her training. Lily won the 1998 USDF All Breed Award at 1st level Adult Amateur and 4th in the open Division; I earned my USDF qualified rider patch with Lily, and in 2000 Lily was 4th place for the Thoroughbred Horses in Sport at 2nd/3rd level. Lily died in 2002 as a result of complication of Cushing disease. She is very much missed! She was what dressage is all about- making good decisions and having a true partnership with your horse. JKL Midori is by the Trakeher Macht (same sire as Maddie) and out of my quarter mare, Holly. She was my very first foal, born in 2000. She likes to do a variety of work! In 2007 she was the Training Level high point for a local show series, and was ranked 20th in the US and 4th in the Region for the Performance Horse Registry Silver Stirrup awards. She is the dam of Wrapsody in Venice. She is not only an incredible athlete for dressage or jumping, she is a proven producer of superior sport horses. JKL Chelsea- 1995 AQHA mare, approved with the American Sport pony registry. Dam of all my sport pony foals. Produced two red dun foals. Congratulations to Shooting Star Horse Farm, AR, Chelsea's new owners. Chelsea is due to foal Fall 2010. JKL Arawynn- a red dun 2003 first premium sport pony out of JKL Chelsea by Albert, a Haflinger by the world champion Aristrocrat, who is immortalized in a Breyer horse model. "Whinnie" was my first pony that I bred. She earned a First Premium with the ASPR. She has a super mind and is a lot of fun to ride. She is the "wonder pony"! She has a wonderful home at Equus Manor Riding School in Centerton, AR
Holly- quarter horse mare, dam of JKL Midori and grandmother to Venice. We lost Holly Oct 2009 at the age of 30 (pictured with baby Midori)
